Evidence of Work:
Now that we have an idea of what general direction we want to go in we can start coming up with different ways to solve the problem. We started with brainstorming different possible ideas along with research. We had an idea to make a carbon dioxide filter for different polluters in a house along with other possible personal polluters. After we reviewed our survey results, we thought it would be best to focus on the car filter because it seemed more relevant. It came down to three possible ideas and we then sketched them. Our ideas included three different car exhaust attachments with different main components. A lot of research was done on what materials capture carbon dioxide. We then took those materials and based our ideas on them going forwards. After coming up with a single idea, we broke the functions and sub-functions down into a flow chart.

Particulate Matter - when fuel or gasoline is burned, the emissions aren't always the same. some part can be heated unevenly and usually lead to black toxic particles that come out of the exhaust pipe.
Catalytic Converter - located between the muffler and the manifold in the exhaust system of a car. It uses catalysts to change carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide into less harmful gases like carbon dioxide and nitrogen. The material used for the catalysts are very expensive materials so they are costly.
Single Celled Bacteria - an organism consisting of only one cell. They are very simple and can reproduces quickly. They can also survive in many different kinds of harsh environments.
Anodized Aluminum Oxide - nonporous material made from aluminum oxide. It has a honeycomb structure that can work like a filter.
