Evidence of Work:
In this next step, we need to narrow down our three designs into one. To do this quantitatively, we used a decision matrix to understand what the best design will be. A decision matrix uses evaluation criteria and weights to determine what the most efficient design will look like. First, as a group we decided on 6 evaluation criteria that we would base our rankings on. This included: how well it captures carbon dioxide, filters particulate matter, quiets the sound, how cheap it is, easy to manufacture, and the durability. Then we assigned weights to each one based on how important it was to our product overall. The value of 1 was split between the 6 criteria with higher fractions going towards the more important functions like capturing carbon dioxide and the cost. Next, we made our own individual decision matrix before talking as a group to see what our own thoughts were. After making our own decisions, we came together to talk about each persons decision matrix to come up with a matrix as a team.

Decision Matrix - a chart in which values are given to different concepts based on criteria. This helps mathematically chose the best concept.
Evaluation Criteria - The different important categories that were used judged the overall quality of each concept. We used six different categories to base our adjustment on.
