Evidence of Work:
The next steps we needed to take to further develop our product are designing experiments to test how well parts of it will work. Our group decided to run two tests on the two main parts of our prototype, the carbon dioxide filter and particle filter. As of right now we are planning to work with nylon cloth for the particle filter and potassium hydroxide to absorb the carbon dioxide. We planned out the experiments and all the factors so we would be ready for when we had class time to preform them. Our main questions were, "how effective is nylon cloth effective at capturing particulate matter in different cars?" and "What concentration of potassium hydroxide is the most effective at capturing the most carbon dioxide?" To do this, we created a small prototype of the particle filter and the outer shell and attached it to two different types of cars. We than ran it for 3 minutes in park to see if the weight would change. For the potassium hydroxide solution we took different solutions and bubbled carbon dioxide through them to see if the weight would change.
